Tribeca Film Festival Award Show

05.09.2004

My good friend Mark Risher worked on the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC as an associate producer; he gave me the opportunity to write some music for the award show. The whole experience went very well - people liked the music, mark didn't get fired, and i get to brag that the likes of Robert Deniro and Kevin Bacon walked onto the stage with my music :)

Note: You might need to download quicktime to watch these.

stingers

The sound you hear as the "Best Movie", "Best Documentary", etc graphics fade in and out; at first i was using a lot of strings, but the producer wanted something a little more upbeat. Here are the samples i made, plus the final version.

Strings w/bass version
John Williams dramatic horn version
Rock-the-movie version
Final (whoosh-with-a-beat) version

walk-on music

The music that plays as the presenters and winners walk on to the stage. The producer wanted something "edgy" so i brought out the distorted guitars and rock organs. The "porn" version was just for fun.. check out the MC's sexy voice!
